What does a failed boot message "NTLDR missing. ...reboot" mean?
After installing a second SATA HD and adding the content of a USB program set, there was an update installed on booting off. On turning the computer on the next day a dead-end boot failure occurred with the message, "NTLDR missing. CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot. Never gets past this message and does not accept F8 safe mode option. ?Virus?1 person needs an answerI do too

What I think has happened is that the boot.ini file is the default - boot off the first partition on disk 0.You've now added another drive - and it's become drive 0 for some reason (Possibly the socket number on the motherboard). The motherboard is correctly tripping over the blank disk0, and finding the boot parameters on disk1 - but they are wrong for the current setup you have two choices.1) swap the drive connections to the motherboard2) change the boot.ini file to read from disk1 HTH-- Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC
